Representatives for Swift confirmed the news. The couple tied the knot on Friday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York. Around 1,000 guests attended the private ceremony. Instead of choosing traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, the couple gave those roles to family members. Swift's brother, Austin Swift, served as her "Man of Honor." Kelce's brother, Jason Kelce, stood beside him as the best man.

The giant screens, outside of the Madison Square Garden, read "JUST&T MARRIED" in purple. Members of the crowd lined up outside the venue, even though it was a sweltering day. Numerous people wanted to see the festivities.

Couple Kept Most Wedding Details Private

The marriage was another milestone in the relationship of the couple. In 2023, Swift and Kelce started dating. Their relationship has been one of the most talked-about celebrity romances to date.

The ceremony was kept low key except for most of the details. Police imposed traffic and pedestrian controls around the wedding venue to help control the crush of people. Guest mobility phones were also said to be not to be brought in. For this reason, hardly any photographs or videos were released online.

The Associated press got a permit earlier this week indicating that the wedding would be held during the July Fourth weekend. The permit also allowed the celebrations to be held until 4am.

Celebrities and Sports Stars Attended

Several well-known celebrities and sports personalities attended the wedding. The guest list included Camila Cabello, Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudeikis, Karlie Kloss, Kareem Hunt, Cooper Kupp, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Joe Buck, and author Jenny Han. Guests arrived in black SUVs wearing tuxedos and elegant evening gowns. Security remained tight throughout the event.

Charity Donation Came Before the Wedding

The wedding happened during one of New York's busiest weekends. Independence Day celebrations were already underway. The city was also hosting a parade of tall ships on the Hudson River. FIFA World Cup action in nearby New Jersey added to the excitement.

Just days before the wedding, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to 20 local and national charities across the United States. Many of those organisations are based in Nashville, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and New York. These cities share a close connection with the couple.

Fans Celebrated Outside the Venue

Outside the venue, many fans celebrated the newlyweds and shared their excitement.

"We're relatively the same age, I'm a year older than her and I just got married this year as well," said New York resident Diana Warshavsky, who joined other Swift fans outside Madison Square Garden.
