The director called the occasion "the greatest happiness" of his life. He also shared that Krish followed tradition before he asked her to marry him. Before asking Ida for marriage, Imtiaz says that Krish first spoke to him and asked him to give him his blessing. The gesture was thoughtfully made making the moment even more meaningful for the filmmaker.

This proposal occurred in Norway on July 1. Amidst beautiful views and mountains, Krish went on one knee and proposed with a diamond ring. Ida later shared the emotional moment on Instagram via photos and a video. All she had to add was the date and time, "01/07/26 11 pm Ytresand," and then let the images do the talking.

The engagement announcement quickly caught the attention of celebrities and fans. Many actors including Sharvari, Vedang Raina, Khushi Kapoor, Sanjana Sanghi, Ahsaas Channa, Aaliyah Kashyap, Orry, and others congratulated the couple.

No Wedding Plans Yet, Says Ida Ali

Since the engagement, a lot of people have begun to ask about the wedding. Imtiaz, however, says there is no rush. He would like the couple to make use of this phase rather than planning for the wedding. He would prefer not to get in the way and spoil their moment.

So does Ida. She said she is aware of no wedding plans."We're just enjoying the moment, like my dad said," she shared, making it clear that they are taking things one step at a time.
